A NOTE FOR ACTORS

Of course it is.

A person’s accent, quite literally, speaks to how they show up in world. How they engage with it. How they take up space.

Yes, a person is so much more than their accent. Just as your acting is so much more than the accent of your character.

But are you making that mean that the accent isn’t important? That it doesn’t have anything to offer? That it’s something purely technical to just add to the mix and hope for the best?

What if you started viewing it as an opportunity?

As a juicy way in to your character?

As a key piece of the puzzle?
